- "Client": An individual or entity seeking legal services.
- "Legal Professional": A licensed lawyer or firm offering services via the Platform.
- "Content": Any data, text, documents, or materials uploaded to the Platform.
3. Eligibility
- Users must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering binding contracts.
- Legal Professionals must hold active licensure in their jurisdiction, in compliance with all ethical rules.
4. Account Registration
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- You are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality and all activities under your account.
- PocketLawyers.io reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for false information or misconduct.
5. Platform Services
For Legal Professionals
- You may offer services through the Platform, subject to compliance with all applicable laws and bar rules of your practice jurisdiction.
- You retain full responsibility for client relationships, confidentiality, and the quality of services rendered.
For Clients
- The Platform facilitates connections with Legal Professionals but does not provide legal advice.
- Clients are solely responsible for selecting Legal Professionals and evaluating their qualifications.
- Payments for legal services are processed through the Platform's secure payment gateway.
6. User Responsibilities
Prohibited Conduct:
- Misrepresenting qualifications, identity, or licensure.
- Sharing illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
- Reverse-engineering, scraping, or exploiting the Platform.
Clients and Legal Professionals are solely responsible for attorney-client relationships, including conflicts of interest and confidentiality obligations.
7. Intellectual Property
- PocketLawyers.io owns all rights to the Platform's software, design, trademarks, and logos.
- Users retain ownership of their Content but grant the Platform a non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute it for operations.
8. Payment Terms
- Fees: Legal Professionals set their own service fees. The Platform may charge transaction or subscription fees (disclosed upfront).
- Refunds: Subject to individual Legal Professionals policies. PocketLawyers.io does not guarantee refunds for services rendered.
- Chargebacks: Fraudulent disputes may result in account termination.
9. Privacy
- Use of the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy, which outlines data collection, storage, and sharing practices.
- Client-Legal Professional communications are encrypted but may be accessed for legal or security reasons.
10. Disclaimers
- The Platform is provided "as is" with no warranties of accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
- PocketLawyers.io does not:
- Guarantee legal outcomes.
- Endorse Legal Professionals qualifications.
- Verify the completeness of Content (e.g., documents, research).
11. Limitation of Liability
PocketLawyers.io is not liable for:
- Damages arising from use of the Platform or reliance on Content.
- Legal Professionals acts, omissions, or malpractice.
- Technical issues, downtime, or data loss.
12. Termination
- PocketLawyers.io may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, illegal conduct, or to protect the Platforms integrity.
- Clients and Legal Professionals may terminate accounts at any time.
13. Dispute Resolution
Disputes must be resolved through mediation between users.
14. Amendments
- PocketLawyers.io may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
- Material changes will be notified via email or in-platform alerts.
